1. Diagnosis: Characteristic brush-like appearance of the thallus. Cell length in the basal region of the main axis more than twice as long as broad and with rounded gonimolobes. , 2. Etymology: The epithet pertains to Africa where the species occurs. , 3. Holotype represented by fig. 1, 2 in Reddy et al. (2020).
