1. Etymology: Named for the unusually placed internal break in the striae and the sporadic breaks in striae on exposed valve–mantle face, 2. Diagnosis: Areolae opening via curly slits on valve, star-shaped slits on girdle bands; side of keel crest ribbed; wide hyaline break in areolae at outer edge of valve depression, 3.
